March 21- March 24 (Mon.-Thurs.)

Fall 2011 course reservation registration period for eligible students. (See Course Reservation)

March 28 – April 22 (Mon.-Fri.)

Fall 2011 registration enrollment appointments for students enrolled during spring 2011.  For best course selection, register as soon as possible after your enrollment appointment begins.

Continuing students can register through May 27 (and also during schedule adjustment August 1-12).

May 2 (Mon.) – May 27 (Fri.)

Schedule adjustment for continuing degree students who have registered for fall semester and registration for continuing students who have not yet registered. AFTER May 27, continuing students may NOT register or adjust their schedules UNTIL August 1-12.

May 2 (Mon.)

Fall 2011 registration for eligible new graduate students and readmitted students who have confirmed with admissions and eligible students continuing from summer to fall. After May 27, readmitted students may not register or adjust their schedules until August 1-12.

June 6 (Mon.) – July 29 (Fri.)

Fall 2011 registration for incoming freshman and transfer students (on specified dates).

Registration continues (on specified dates) for new graduate students and eligible students continuing from summer to fall.

August 1-12 (Mon.-Fri.)

Final registration and schedule adjustment for continuing students, new admitted graduate students and readmitted students who have confirmed, as well as eligible students continuing from summer to fall.

Final registration period for all incoming freshman and transfer students who have not previously registered (except those in Arts and Sciences, Journalism, Leeds School of Business, and Engineering attending the final orientation in August) and schedule adjustment for all transfer students who registered in June, July, or early August.

August 1-20 (Mon.-Sat.)

Tuition and fee bills are available online. (Timing of billing is based on your registration date.) E-bill notifications are sent to the students at their Colorado.edu addresses and to authorized payers when the bill is posted online. Students view and pay their bill through MuCuInfo. Authorized payers view and pay on CUBIll&Pay. Payment is due on August 31. More Information

August 12 (Fri.)

Deadline (midnight) for all students to register for fall courses (except incoming freshmen and transfers in Arts and Sciences, Journalism, Leeds School of Business, and Engineering attending the final orientation and any other incoming freshman or transfer student not yet registered).

Deadline (midnight) for continuing students to withdraw from the university and receive a full refund of the $200 confirmation deposit, less any outstanding charges (including students on the Time Off or StayConnected program.   (See Withdrawal)

August 16 Monday

Deadline to set up direct deposit for your financial aid refunds which will be deposited into your designated bank account on or around August 19. (See Bursar’s Office)

August 15-16 (Mon.-Tues.)

Registration incoming freshman students in Arts and Sciences, Journalism, Leeds School of Business, and Engineering who are attending the final transfer orientation on August 15. All other eligible incoming transfers who have not yet registered can register via myCUinfo on Tuesday, August 16, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

August 18 (Thurs.)

Registration for incoming freshman students in Arts and Sciences, Journalism, Leeds School of Business, and Engineering who are attending the final freshman orientation on August 16-18 as well as registration for all other eligible incoming freshmen and transfers who have not yet registered.

August 19 (Fri.)

Drop/add enrollment appointments begin for all incoming freshman and transfer students.(See Drop/Add)

ACCESS registration begins.  (See ACCESS)

August 21 (Sun.)

Open enrollment begins for all students.  (See Open Enrollment)

Faculty/staff registration begins.

August 22 (Mon.)

Classes begin.

August 30 Tuesday

Space-available registration for Senior Citizens Auditors Program, Koenig Alumni Center, 8:00 a.m. to noon.  (See Other Types of Registration)

August 31 (Wed.)

Add Deadline: Deadline to add a course, including independent study and thesis, without the instructor’s signature.  After this date, the instructor’s signature is required on a enrollment form to add a course (through September 9). After this date, registration is only available for dropping courses through September 7, the drop deadline. (See Drop/Add)

Wait List Deadline: Deadline to add name to a course wait list. (See Wait Lists)

Tuition & Fees Payment Deadline: Deadline to pay full tuition and fees (or first payment of the two-payment plan once you’ve signed up). Due by 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time if paid in person or mailed, or before midnight if paid online. No grace period. See Bursar’s Office.)

Deadline (before midnight) to sign up for the two-payment plan via on myCUinfo. No grace period.

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to select or waive university sponsored health insurance at Wardenburg Health Center or by midnight on myCUinfo.

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to turn in Time Off and StayConnected applications to the Office of the Registrar and be eligible to purchase university sponsored insurance.  (See Time Off & Stay Connected)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for private scholarship checks to be received in the financial aid Scholarship Office to avoid late and service charges.

September 5 (Mon.)

Labor Day holiday. No classes. University closed.

September 7 (Wed.)

Drop Deadline: Deadline to drop a course without being assessed tuition and fees for that course and without a W grade appearing on the transcript. NOTE: After this date, the instructor’s signature is required on an enrollment form (through October 5) to drop a course. (EXCEPTION: Students whose only college is Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Planning, as well as non-degree students, have until October 28 to drop a course without approval signatures. For drops after the September 7, please use the Registrar's late drop form online (more information )  Note: Courses dropped after September 7 appear with a W grade on the transcript and no refunds for tuition or fees are given for course drops after September 7. Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to petition to waive UCSU student fees.

Deadline to request a refund of any student opportunities fees you selected. (See Student Opportunities Fees)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and only be assessed a $200 withdrawal processing fee.  After this date, 100 percent of tuition and fees is due for students who withdraw unless there are extenuating circumstances. Students in the colleges/schools of Architecture, Education, Journalism, Law, and MBA must have their dean's permission to withdraw. (See Withdrawal)

September 9 (Fri.)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to add a course without petitioning your dean.  NOTE: Instructors’ signature is required on an enrollment form to add a course.  In general, instructors only approve an add if students have been regularly attending and there’s space in the course.  (See Drop/Add)
(NOTE: September 9 is also the deadline for undergraduate resident students to add a course and be eligible for the COF voucher for that course. See COF.)

Deadline to change variable-credit hours, pass/fail, and no-credit status on courses without petitioning your dean. After the deadline, petitions will only be accepted if there are extenuating circumstances. (See Credit and Grading Options

After this date, registration is on a space-available basis, and a $100 late fee is charged. (See Late Registration)

September 21 (Wed.)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and be eligible to petition to be assessed 40 percent of full tuition and fees (instead of being assessed 100 percent of full tuition and fees). (See Withdrawal)

October 5 (Wed.)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to drop a course without petitioning the dean’s office. (EXCEPTION: Students whose only college is Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Planning, as well as non-degree students, have until October 28 to drop a course without approval signatures. For drops after the September 7, please use the Registrar's late drop form online (more information). Note: Courses dropped after September 7 appear with a W grade on the transcript and no refunds for tuition or fees are given for course drops after September 7. (See Drop/Add)

Deadline for students who have three or more final exams on the same day for fall semester to make arrangements to change their final exam schedule. (See Calendars and Schedules)

Deadline to pay any unpaid balance and new charges (including the second half of the two-payment plan). Due by 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time if paid in person or mailed, or before midnight if paid online. No grace period. (See Bursar’s Office)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and be eligible to petition to be assessed 60 percent of full tuition and fees (instead of being assessed 100 percent of full tuition and fees). Students in the colleges/schools of Engineering and Applied Science, and Music must have their dean's permission to withdraw. (See Withdrawal)

October 17 (Mon.)

October 24 (Mon.) – October 26 (Wed.)

October 27 (Mon.) – November 18 (Sun.)

Spring 2012 registration period for continuing degree students.

October 28 (Fri.)

Deadline for Arts & Sciences, Architecture and Planning, and non-degree students to drop a course without approval signatures. November 9 (Wed.)

November 21-23 (Mon.-Wed.)

Fall Break. No classes. University remains open.

November 24-25 (Thurs.-Fri.)

Thanksgiving holiday. No classes. University closed.

November 28 (Mon.)

Deadline (midnight) for students paying in-state tuition to authorize COF online and receive the COF tuition voucher. After this date students can still authorize through December 15, but need to come into the Office of the Registrar in Regent 105 to do so. (See COF)

November 28 (Mon.)

Spring 2012 registration begins for eligible new and readmitted students.

December 7 (Wed.)

Tuition and fee payment deadline for any unpaid balances and new charges. Past due balances will prevent registration for future terms.

December 9 (Fri.)

Last day of classes for fall 2011.
Last day for students to withdraw from the university for fall semester.  (See Withdrawal)

Last day for students to turn in Time Off Program application to the Office of the Registrar for fall semester. (See Time Off Program)

December 10-15 (Sat.-Thurs.)

Final exams for fall 2011. (There are no exams on Sunday, December 11)  (See Calendars and Schedules)

December 15 (Thurs.)

Last day to dispute tuition and fee charges for fall withdrawals. (See Bursar’s Office) link to

Spring 2012 tuition and fee payment due date.

May 4 (Fri.)

Last day of classes for spring 2012.

May 5-10 (Sat.-Thurs.)

Final exams for spring 2012.  (There are no exams on Sunday, May 6.)
