October 29–Nov 2 (Mon.-Fri.)

Spring 2008 course reservation registration period for eligible students.  (See Course Reservation)

November 5 –December 2 (Mon.-Sun.)

Spring 2008 registration time assignments for students enrolled during fall 2007. For best course selection, register as soon as possible after your time assignment begins.  Continuing students can register through January 10.

December 3 (Mon.) –     January 10 (Thurs.) 

Schedule adjustment for continuing degree students who have registered for spring semester and registration for continuing students who have not yet registered.

Spring 2008 registration for eligible new and readmitted students who have confirmed with admissions.

December 14 (Fri.)

Deadline to update your billing and permanent addresses to ensure that your spring 2008 bill is mailed to the correct address.

December 17 (Mon.) 

Bills mailed to the billing addresses of all students who register by December 14. If no billing address is on record, bills are mailed to the permanent address. Continuing students will be sent a paper bill and an e-bill notification at their colorado.edu address of the availability of the bill online. New students will receive an e-bill notification only. (Due on January 23.)

January 4 (Fri.) 

Deadline (midnight) for continuing students to withdraw from the university and receive a full refund of the $200 enrollment deposit, less any outstanding charges.  (This deadline to withdraw and not forfeit the deposit also applies to students planning to go on the Time Out Program.)  New and readmitted students are not eligible for a refund.  (See Withdrawal)

January 7 (Mon.)

Bills mailed to the billing addresses of all students who register December 15 through January 4. If no billing address is on record, bills are mailed to the permanent address. Continuing students will be sent a paper bill and an e-bill notification at their colorado.edu address of the availability of the bill online. New students will receive an e-bill notification only. (Due on January 23.)

January 10 (Thurs.)

Deadline (6:00 p.m.) for ALL students, both undergraduate and graduate, to register for spring courses.  Registration must be completed by 6:00 p.m. on this day to be guaranteed enrollment for spring semester.  After this date, registration is on a space-available basis, and a $50 late fee is charged. January 11 (Fri.)

Drop/add time assignments begin.  (See Drop/Add)
ACCESS registration begins.  (See ACCESS)

January 14 (Mon.)

Classes begin.

January 21 (Mon.)

Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.  No classes.  University closed.

January 22-23 (Tues. - Wed.) 

Space-available registration for Senior Citizens Auditors Program, Koenig Alumni Center, Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; continues on Wednesday, January 23, 8:00 a.m. to noon.  (See Other Types of Registration)

January 23 (Wed.) 

Add DeadlineDeadline (5:00 p.m.) to add a course, including independent study and thesis, without the instructor’s signature.  After this date, the instructor’s signature is required on a special action form to add a course (through February 1).  NOTE: After 5:00 p.m. on this date, web registration is only available for dropping courses (through 5:00 p.m. on January 30, the drop deadline).  (See Drop/Add)

Wait List Deadline:  Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to add name to a course wait list.  (See Wait Lists)

Tuition & Fees Payment Deadlines:  Deadline to pay full tuition and fees (or first payment of two-payment plan).  Due before 5:00 p.m. if paid in person or mailed, or before 6:00 p.m. using the internet payment option.  No grace period.  (See the bursar billing channel on CUConnect under the financial tab or Tuition and Fees)

Deadline to sign up for the two-payment plan before midnight via CUConnect.  No grace period.

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to select or waive university sponsored health insurance at Wardenburg Health Center or by midnight on CUConnect.

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for private scholarship checks to be received in the financial aid Scholarship Office to avoid late and service charges.

January 30 (Wed.) 

Drop Deadline:  Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to drop a course without being assessed tuition and fees for that course and without a W grade appearing on the transcript.

After this date, the instructor’s signature is required on a special action form (through February 27th) to drop a course.  (EXCEPTION:  Students whose only college is arts and sciences, as well as nondegree students, have until March 21st to drop a course without approval signatures.)  No refunds for tuition or fees are given for courses dropped after January 30. (See Drop/Add)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to petition to waive UCSU student fees.

Deadline to request a refund of any student opportunities fees you selected.  (See Student Opportunities Fees)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and only be assessed a $200 withdrawal processing fee.  After this date, 100 percent of tuition and fees is due for students who withdraw unless there are extenuating circumstances.  (See Withdrawal)

February 1 (Fri.) 

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to add a course without petitioning your dean.  NOTE: Instructors’ signature is required on a special action form to add a course.  In general, instructors only approve an add if students have been regularly attending and there’s space in the course.  (See Drop/Add)

(NOTE:  February 1 is also the deadline for undergraduate resident students to add a course and be eligible for the COF voucher for that course.  See COF)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to change variable-credit hours, pass/fail, and no-credit status on courses without petitioning your dean.  After the deadline, petitions will only be accepted if there are extenuating circumstances.  (See Credit and Grading Options)

February 13 (Wed.) 

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and be eligible to petition to be assessed 40 percent of full tuition and fees (instead of being assessed 100 percent of full tuition and fees).  (See Withdrawal)

February 22 (Fri.) 

Deadline for students who have three or more final exams on the same day for spring semester to make arrangements to change their final exam schedule.  (See Calendars and Schedules

February 27 (Wed.) 

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to drop a course without petitioning the dean’s office.  (EXCEPTION:  Students whose only college is arts and sciences, as well as nondegree students, have until March 21st to drop a course without approval signatures.)  Note:  Courses dropped after January 30 appear with a W grade on the transcript and no refunds for tuition or fees are given for course drops after January 30.  (See Drop/Add)

Deadline to pay unpaid balance (including two-payment plan).  Due by 5:00 p.m. if paid in person or mailed, or before 6:00 p.m. using the internet payment option. No grace period.  (See bursar channel under the financial tab in CUConnect or Tuition and Fees)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and be eligible to petition to be assessed 60 percent of full tuition and fees (instead of being assessed 100 percent of full tuition and fees).   (See Withdrawal)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to turn in Time Out Program (TOP) applications to the registrar’s office and be assured a continuing student registration time assignment for summer and/or fall 2008.  (See Time Out Program)

March 5 (Wed.)

Summer 2008 registration begins for continuing degree students enrolled during spring 2008.

March 10 (Mon.)

Summer 2008 registration begins for eligible new and readmitted students and for non-degree students.

March 17 (Mon.) – March 27 (Thurs.)

Fall 2008 course reservation registration period for eligible students. (See Course Reservation)

March 21 (Fri.)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for arts and sciences students (whose only college is arts and sciences) and nondegree students to drop a course without any approval signatures.

After this date, arts and sciences students and nondegree students must petition their dean’s office to drop a course.  NOTE:  Courses dropped after January 30 appear with a W grade on the transcript and no refunds for tuition or fees are given for courses dropped after January 30.  (See Drop/Add)

March 26 (Wed.)

Tuition & fee payment deadline for any unpaid balances and new charges.  Past due balances will prevent registration for summer and/or fall semesters.

March 24-28 (Mon.-Fri.)

Spring break.  No classes.  University closed on Friday

March 31– April 27     (Mon.-Sun.)

Fall 2008 registration period for continuing degree students enrolled during spring 2008.

April 23 (Wed.)

Tuition and fee deadline for any unpaid balances and new charges.

April 28 (Mon.)

Fall 2008 registration begins for eligible new and readmitted students.

May 2 (Fri.)

Last day of classes for spring 2008.
Last day for students to withdraw from the university for spring semester.  Students in the colleges/schools of Architecture, Education, Engineering, Journalism, Law, MBA and Music must have their dean's permission to withdraw. (See Withdrawal)

Last day for students to turn in Time Out Program (TOP) applications to the registrar’s office for spring semester.  (See Time Out Program)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to submit an application for the Course Repetition program for spring semester. (See Course Repetition)

May 3-8 (Sat.-Thurs.)

Final exams for spring 2008.  (There are no exams on Sunday, May 4.)  (See Calendars and Schedules)

May 8 (Thurs.)

Last day to dispute tuition and fee charges for spring withdrawals.  (See Tuition Dispute)

May 9 (Fri.)

Spring 2008 commencement, Folsom Stadium, 8:30 a.m.

May 12 (Mon.) – May 30 (Fri.)

Summer 2008 Maymester session.

May 26 (Mon.)

Memorial Day holiday.  No classes.  University Closed.

June 2 (Mon.)

Summer 2008 classes begin for first five-week, eight-week, and ten-week sessions.

July 4 (Fri.)

Independence Day holiday. No classes. University closed.

July 8 (Tues.)

Summer 2008 classes begin for second five-week session.

August 9 (Sat.)

Official summer 2008 graduation date. No summer ceremony.

August 25 (Mon.)

Fall 2008 classes begin.

September 1 (Mon.)

Labor Day Holiday. No classes. University closed.

September 3 (Wed.)

First fall tuition due date.

November 24-26 (Mon.-Wed.)

Fall Break. No classes. (University remains open.)

Last day of fall 2008 classes.
