October 24 - 26
(Mon. - Wed.)
Spring 2012 course reservation registration period for eligible students.  (See Course Reservation)
October 27 – November 18 (Thurs. - Fri.) Spring 2012 registration period for continuing degree students (enrollment appointments run October 27 through November 18). For best course selection, register as soon as possible after your enrollment appointment begins.  Continuing students can register through January 12.
November 7 (Mon.) Continuing Education Open Enrollment begins for spring 2012.
November 19 – January 12 (Sat. - Thurs.) Schedule adjustment for continuing degree students who have registered for Spring semester and registration for continuing degree students who have not yet registered.

December 5 (Mon.) - January 12 (Thurs.)  Spring 2012 registration for new graduate students and eligible readmitted students.  New undergraduate students either register via orientation or will be notified of registration procedures by their college.
December 13 (Tues.) Official bills are available online for students who register by December 9.  E-mail notifications will be sent to Colorado.edu addresses and authorized payers. (See Bursar’s Office for more information) Payment is due January 25.
January 6 (Fri.) Deadline (midnight) for continuing students to withdraw from the university and receive a full refund of the $200 enrollment deposit, less any outstanding charges (including students on the Time Off or StayConnected program.)  New and readmitted students are not eligible for a refund.  (See Withdrawal)
January 10 (Tues.) Official bills are available online for students who register December 10 – December 30.  E-mail notifications will be sent to Colorado.edu addresses and authorized payers. (See Bursar’s Office) Payment is due January 25.

Deadline to sign up for mandatory direct deposit of your financial aid refund which will be deposited into your bank account on January 13.  Check with your bank for availability of funds.  (How to Set up Direct Deposit)
January 12 (Thurs.) Last day to enroll for spring, ALL students, both undergraduate and graduate, before open enrollment begins
January 13 (Fri.) Open enrollment begins for all students.  (See Open Enrollment)

Faculty/staff registration begins

ACCESS registration begins.  (See ACCESS)
January 16 (Mon.) Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.  No classes.  University closed.
January 17 (Tues.) Classes begin.
January 18-19
(Tues. - Wed.)
Space-available registration for Senior Citizens Auditors Program, Koenig Alumni Center, Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; continues on Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to noon.  (See Other Types of Registration).  Tentative dates.
January 25 (Wed.) Add Deadline (midnight).  Deadline to add a course, including independent study and thesis, without the instructor’s signature.  After this date, the instructor’s signature is required on a special action form to add a course through February 3.  After this date, registration is only available for dropping courses through February 1, the drop deadline. (See Drop/Add)

Wait List Deadline:  Deadline (midnight) to add your name to a course wait list.  (See Wait Lists)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to turn in Time Off and StayConnected applications to the Registrar’s office and be eligible to purchase university sponsored insurance.  (See Time Off & Stay Connected)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to select or waive university sponsored health insurance at Wardenburg Health Center or by midnight on MyCUInfo.

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for private scholarship checks to be received in the financial aid Scholarship Office to avoid late and service charges.

Tuition & Fees Payment Due Date:  Deadline to pay full tuition and fees (or first payment of two-payment plan). Payment is due by 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time if paid in person or mailed, or before midnight if paid online (CUBill&Pay). No grace period.  (More information) Deadline to sign up for the two-payment plan before midnight via MyCUInfo. No grace period.
February 1 (Wed.) Drop Deadline:  Deadline (midnight) to drop a course without being assessed tuition and fees for that course and without a W grade appearing on the transcript.  Note:  After this date, the instructor’s signature is required on a special action form (through February 29) to drop a course.  (EXCEPTION:  Students whose only college is Arts and Sciences or Architecture and Planning, as well as non-degree students, have until March 23 to drop a course without approval signatures.  For drops after February 1, please use the Registrar's late drop form online. (For more information)  No refunds for tuition or fees are given for courses dropped after February 1. (See Drop/Add)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to petition to waive UCSU student fees.

Deadline to request a refund of any student opportunities fees you selected.  (See Student Opportunities Fees)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and only be assessed a $200 withdrawal processing fee.  After this date, 100 percent of tuition and fees is due for students who withdraw unless there are extenuating circumstances.  (See Withdrawal)
February 3 (Fri.) Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to add a course without petitioning your dean.  NOTE: Instructors’ signature is required on a special action form to add a course.  In general, instructors only approve an add if students have been regularly attending and there’s space in the course.  (See Drop/Add) (NOTE:  February 3 is also the deadline for undergraduate resident students to add a course and be eligible for the COF voucher for that course.  See COF.)

After this date, registration is on a space-available basis, and a $100 late fee is charged.  (See Late Registration)

Deadline to change variable-credit hours, pass/fail, and no-credit status on courses without petitioning your dean.  After the deadline, petitions will only be accepted if there are extenuating circumstances.  (See Credit and Grading Options)
February 15 (Wed.) Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and be eligible to petition to be assessed 40 percent of full tuition and fees (instead of being assessed 100 percent of full tuition and fees).  (See Withdrawal)
February 29 (Wed.) Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to drop a course without petitioning the dean’s office.  (EXCEPTION:  Student’s whose only college is Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Planning, as well as non-degree, have until March 23 to drop a course without approval signatures.).  For drops after February 1, please use the Registrar's late drop form online. Note:  Courses dropped after February 1 appear with a W grade on the transcript and no refunds for tuition or fees are given for course drops after February 1.  (See Drop/Add)

Deadline for students who have three or more final exams on the same day for Spring semester to make arrangements to change their final exam schedule.  (See Calendars and Schedules)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) to withdraw from the university and be eligible to petition to be assessed 60 percent of full tuition and fees (instead of being assessed 100 percent of full tuition and fees).   (See Withdrawal)

March 12 (Mon.) Summer 2012 registration begins for eligible new and readmitted students and for non-degree students.

March 28 (Wed.) April 2 - April 27

Fall 2012 registration period for continuing degree students.
April 25 (Wed.) Tuition & Fees Payment Due Date:  Deadline to pay new charges or any unpaid balance for spring semester.  Payment is due by 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time if paid in person or mailed, or before midnight if paid online (CUBill&Pay).  Past due balances will prevent registration for Summer and/or Fall semesters.
May 4 (Fri.) Last day of classes for spring 2012.

Last day for students to withdraw from the university for spring semester. Students in the colleges/schools of Architecture, Education, Engineering, Journalism, Law, MBA and Music must have their dean's permission to withdraw. (See Withdrawal)

Last day for students to turn in Time Off Program applications to the registrar’s office for spring semester.  (See Time Off Program)
May 5 - May 10
(Sat. - Thurs.)
Final exams for Spring 2012.  There are no exams on Sunday, May 6.  (See Final Exam Schedules)

May 7 (Mon.) Fall 2012 registration begins for eligible new and readmitted students.
May 10 (Thurs.) Last day to dispute tuition and fee charges for Spring withdrawals.  (See Tuition Dispute)

Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for students paying in-state tuition to authorize COF and receive the COF tuition voucher.  Students can authorize COF at the Office of the Registrar in Regent 105.  (See COF)
May 11 (Fri.) Spring 2012 commencement, Folsom Stadium, 8:30 a.m.
May 14 (Mon.) –

Summer 2012 Maymester session.
May 28 (Mon.) Memorial Day holiday.  No classes.  University Closed.
June 4 (Mon.) Summer 2012 classes begin for first five-week, eight-week, and ten-week sessions.
July 4 (Wed.) Independence Day holiday. No classes. University closed.
July 10 (Tues.) Summer 2012 classes begin for second five-week session.
August 11 (Sat.) Official Summer 2012 graduation date. No summer ceremony.
August 27 (Mon.) Fall 2012 classes begin.
September 3 (Mon.) Labor Day Holiday. No classes. University closed.
September 5 (Wed.) First fall tuition due date.
