Student E-Memo Request

Faculty and Staff » Student E-Memo Request

This form is for Academic Departments who need to send an e-mail memo to student groups. This will not send e-mail to the Office of the Registrar. Click here to send an e-mail message to the registrar.

The charge for Student E-memo programming by the Registrar's Office is $75 and the ITS charge is $0.0038 per e-mail address.

Before completing this form, note that the university now has a student Buff Bulletin service that is less expensive, and less restrictive than this service. For information, please go to: http://www.colorado.edu/ememo/

Please allow 7 business days for completion of this request.

No RUSH orders are accepted.

Choose " YES " in the box below to indicate you accept the above terms.
If you need more information about the terms, please review the E-memo Policy by clicking the box at the top of this page.
Red text indicates required field.
Intended Audience and Special Instructions:
To whom do you wish this memo to reach. What you enter here lets the recipient know who else received this memo.  What you type here does appear in the actual e-memo.
From Department:
This field tells the recipient who you are, and which department you are associated with. The Campus E-Memo is a formal communication, and the document should follow standard business letter formatting.
Date to Send:
Let us know when you would like to have your e-memo sent. Note that e-memo requests are reviewed for eligibility and content prior to sending.
Date of Expiration:
After this date, the e-memo can be removed from recipient's e-mail box automatically, but only if the recipient hasn't read it yet.
If your memo is about a retirement party on Friday, enter an expiration date of Saturday of the same week, and those people that were out of the office for the week won't have to bother with this message at all. Try doing that with standard mail!
Please use a MM/DD/YY format for this field.

Subject:
This required field explains what this e-memo pertains. The text that is typed here will display as the subject line on the recipient's e-mail message, so short and to the point would be best with elaboration saved for the message body.
PeopleSoft SpeedType: ($75 plus $.0038 per address)
This is the PeopleSoft SpeedType to be charged.
Mailer's E-mail Address:
This is your e-mail address where the registrar's office can respond to your Campus E-Memo Request.

Mailer's Phone Number:
This is the phone number of the person to contact if there are questions. (examples: 2-2222 or 303-492-2222)
Text:
The actual memo body. See The Electronic Memo Style Guide for methods for getting the contents of a word processing document into this field.   Due to student complaints about junk e-mail, e-memos that contain repeated information of e-memos sent earlier will not be sent unless they are considered a health or safety issue or are of vital importance to the students' education.

Submit Message:

Clicking on this button will forward your Campus E-Memo onto the registrar's office for processing. A 'bid' sheet will be mailed to the e-mail address provided above showing the total charges for sending e-mail to those recipients' with valid e-mail addresses. This will serve as your receipt that the e-memo was received.

The mailing will be sent out unless we receive notice from you to cancel it.

Send E-mail to Self:
Many people want to do this, but do it too late! This is a good way to see just exactly how your e-memo is going to appear in the recipient's e-mail box. After clicking on this button, check your e-mail for new messages. DON'T EXIT THE E-MEMO FORM! If you exit the form to read your e-mail, all the hard work you've done will be lost. In Windows you need to press <Alt><Tab> until you have arrived at the application that you use to read e-mail (pine, eudora, etc.), and when you have finished reading your e-mail, press <Alt><Tab> again to return to the web browser.

Clear Form:
Just like it says, this button re-sets the form to a blank e-memo ready for you to start entering text.
