Enrollment Deposit

Students » How to Withdraw from Courses » Enrollment Deposit

Enrollment: Every student has a $200 enrollment deposit that is held by the university. Interest earned from the enrollment deposits is used for student financial aid.

Refunding: The enrollment deposit is held until the student either:

  • Drops all classes in a semester within established dates and guidelines, or

  • Officially Withdraws from CU within established dates and guidelines, or

  • Graduates (the enrollment deposit remains in the student's account if he/she enrolls at the university the semester immediately following his/her graduation.)

  • New, readmitted, and transfer students are not eligible for a deposit refund and are also responsible for the $182 new student fee if you attended orientation and/or registered for classes.

If any of the above conditions is reached, the deposit is credited toward any outstanding financial obligations, and a refund check is either mailed to the student or directly deposited into their bank account within approximately eight weeks.

Graduation: Students should Update their Permanent Address before they graduate or withdraw to ensure they receive the refund.
