Linked Courses

Linked courses are lecture courses that have required recitations and/or labs. In the course listings, you can identify a linked course because the call numbers for linked lecture sections are not listed. Only the call numbers for the linked recitation or lab are listed.

• When you enter the call number, the system automatically links all other sections of the course and either enrolls you in all sections of the course or gives you the option of placing your name on a wait list, if available, for all linked sections of the course.

Controlled Enrollment Courses and Independent Study

These courses have call numbers that are not published. These courses also have specific restrictions that are placed by the department that offers it. They are denoted by section numbers 700 through 999.

• To find out if you qualify for a controlled enrollment section or an independent study course, contact the department that offers the course.
• If you are eligible, the department will either enroll you in the course or give you the call number so you can register for the course via the Web.
