Step 6: How to Register Online

  1. Go to CUConnect and log in with your IdentiKey and password.
    • Choose the Courses tab and then select Register for Classes (under Schedule and Grades) and follow the instructions listed.
  2. There are two ways to register for a course:
    • Click on the Course Search tab and do a search for courses (by department, by core category, by time, etc.). When the results of your search are displayed, if a course is available, it will have an "Add" button next to it. Click Add to add the course.

      OR

    • On the Registration page, enter the 5-digit course call number to register for a course. To process your request click Submit.


    • FYI
    • Call numbers for Controlled Enrollment and Independent Study Courses are not listed in web registration.
    • Register for Linked Courses by entering the call number for the appropriate lab or recitation.
    • Select the Grade Option (optional). Usually this will be 'Letter Grading'; however, if you wish to select another type of grading option, see Credit and Grading Options for more information. Each school has specific requirements regarding credit and grading that students should be aware of.
  3. If the class is open and fits your schedule, it will be added to your schedule and show as 'enrolled'.
  4. If the course section selected is closed or doesn't fit your schedule, click Search for other sections or Wait List (if available).
  5. When you are done registering, verify your schedule by clicking on the Schedule tab at the bottom of the page.
    • Credit Hour Limits for undergraduate and graduate students vary between the registration and the drop/add periods, which can affect enrollment and registration.
  6. Be sure to exit web registration and than exit CUConnect when you are finished.
  7. After you have registered, you can continue to make adjustments to your schedule through the Registration Deadline.
  8. After the registration deadline, see the Drop/Add instructions on making final schedule adjustments during the drop/add period.

Registration Deadlines

Students must complete registration by these deadlines to be guaranteed enrollment for spring semester 2010. A $50 Late Registration fee will apply to students who DO NOT register by these dates (including graduate students).

January 7 (Thurs.)

By 6:00 PM for all students

Monday - Friday: 7:00 a.m. to Midnight
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to Midnight
Saturday: Web registration is NOT available

The system is available from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (the registration deadline).

January 20 (Wed.)

Web registration is ONLY available until 5:00 p.m. for adding courses and adding your name to course wait lists (deadline to add without instructor’s signature).  NOTE:  After 5:00 p.m. on January 20, the system is only available for dropping courses through 5:00 p.m. on January 27, the drop deadline.

January 27 (Wed.)

Web registration is only available from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (the drop deadline). Link to

Need Registration Assistance?

If you have problems or questions concerning web registration, call the registrar’s office at 303-492-6970 and press 1 to speak with a registration assistant. Call between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on university holidays. Recorded registration information is also available at this number 24 hours a day (press 2 to hear recorded registration information).
